Liquid Web Review: Best VPS Hosting Plans

VPS

My Liquid Web reviews are not over yet. I have so much more to tell you about their detailed services. The best way to get answers to your questions is, of course, to call and talk to the amazing customer support representatives. This is one of the reasons I love them so much. I don’t have to ever be concerned about getting the help I need from a human being. I am going to do my best to help you understand more about the best VPS hosting plans in this review. These services are indispensable for the early years of

a website, and for many other circumstances. I should know, I’ve tried everything!

VPS hosting plans are some of the most necessary, yet most misunderstood plans in a company’s catalog. Blogging is one of the most popular professions that rely on VPS hosting. Of course, this is a personal decision, as many prefer a dedicated server. Liquid Web is adept at both of these hosting plans and is ready to take your site to the next level.

In my opinion, Liquid Web offers better service and more options than most other providers. I am dedicated to helping readers of this review understand why they are the best choice. I plan to discuss a few of the various ways a VPS hosting plan can help your website and how they work. I definitely think that Liquid Web makes the best use of their resources and provides incomparable customization for their plans. I’m sure that I can persuade you to look in their direction as you begin your search for a VPN.

Pros And Cons: The Summary

VPS
VPS hosting plans are some of the most necessary, yet most misunderstood plans in a company’s catalog.

At first glance, this review may seem a little long for those that like to skim through information. For these readers, I am including a quick list of pros and cons to help you get a better picture of Liquid Web.

My Favorite Things

  • Unsurpassed customer support is always my first thought when it comes to Liquid Web.
  • They don’t try to sell you something you have no use for. They focus on finding out what each customer needs.
  • Many varieties of the same product.
  • Money saving offers are often found on their site.

Things I Don’t Like

  • Higher cost
  • Complex terminology (This is just the nature of web-hosting, however. Fully accessible customer support can answer all of your questions)

Let’s go ahead and talk about the costs of VPS hosting. This is probably one of the main reasons you are reading this review, after all. I am upfront about listing the pricing as one of my least favorite things. No one likes to spend extra money. There are, however, some very good reasons why Liquid Web’s prices make sense.

VPS hosting plans are meant to be more financially friendly than dedicated server plans. They, however, are just as helpful for specific types of sites. You can purchase VPS hosting with a variety of RAM. Liquid Web offers 2, 4, or 8GB of RAM. The least expensive monthly cost is $59 and is only available for Linux. The highest price for VPS hosting $169. Linux and Windows are both supported in the upper price ranges and all have 5 TB Bandwidth. SSD disk space also varies with these pricing differences. You can expect it to be anywhere from 40 GB to 200 GB.

Right away it is easy to see how much more affordable VPS plans are than dedicated servers. I would never suggest that you go with a VPS just to save money, though. You really cannot clearance shop when it comes to what is best for your website. A VPS is the best hosting option for many websites, however.

If your business is small or just starting out, you may be a perfect candidate for VPS. Blogs are one of the best types of sites to use VPS hosting with. Traffic is often sufficient, but not high enough to warrant a move to a dedicated server. The variety of plans and add-ons allows you to customize your plan to meet your individual needs. Each of these is individually priced according to usage. For example, extra storage is offered at $0.08 per GB. While costly, these specialized options guarantee that you only pay for what you use.

Why VPS Hosting is Important To Me?

VPS
Liquid Web proved to be the best company to meet my VPS needs.

VPS hosting is important to me for several reasons. I like that it offers something for sites that are in between a high and low customer base. You may have a small e-commerce site or a growing blog. People often use shared sites early on, because they do not how well their site is going to do. Purchasing high-cost products were not in my yearly budget. I carefully watched my sites grow and invest in VPS hosting before ever considering dedicated servers. This option gave me time to prepare financially for when I needed to switch to a higher priced item. My blog could probably still run perfectly on a VPS site, as they do offer add-ons when you need something extra.

Liquid Web proved to be the best company to meet my VPS needs. They not only have a wide range of services, but they also helped me customize my plan for each different site. When you are exploring multiple avenues of revenue online, you may need something different for each website. This was the situation I was in. I didn’t want to pay all-inclusive prices for services I did not need. I only needed add-ons for one of my sites. Another ran nicely on the lowest priced plan.

I learned that there is no way to avoid maintenance costs for your site. I had to learn to make this a priority when I worked on my budget. Hosting plans are a part of becoming a successful online presence. These costs are much less noticeable once you site grows and brings in more revenue, but they are still a regular monthly bill. I prefer Liquid Web because it helps me get the most for my money.

VPS Clarified

Hosting server
The economy of a shared server is available with the privacy of a dedicated server. So take your decision carefully.

So, what exactly is VPS hosting?  For people who are new to this next level of blogging or e-commerce, the technical lingo can get confusing. I have to admit, I still research technical terms regularly. Actually, I usually just call the amazing customer support team at Liquid Web to explain things to me. One thing I am clear about after years of trial and error, however, are the details about Virtual Private Servers (VPNs).

A VPS allows you to have the best of both worlds. The economy of a shared server is available with the privacy of a dedicated server. If you don’t have a ton of special requirements, you may be able to stay with a VPS for quite some time, even after experiencing significant website growth. These servers are said to be virtual, but actually, occupy space on a physical server. This is a perplexing concept.

Basically, the amount of space that might normally be used for a dedicated server, is used for several VPS sites. These spaces work well the majority of the time. On the occasion that your site suddenly needs more space, it can be overflowed virtually to another space, or server. The prices can be kept low because clients rarely go over their allotted space. Once you are aware of overflow on a regular basis, it may be time to switch over to a dedicated server. For now, however, we are going to focus on VPS hosting. Liquid Web helps to keep all of your traffic going through one server. Your domain name stays the same and you should not notice anything different in the way your site shows up, other than it may be faster. Visitors to your site have the same great service you have always given them, except now it is more secure and reliable.

Crash times for websites are often at certain points of the day when everyone seems to be online. During business hours you may have a moderate flow of traffic, only to be met with an influx of guests after five in the evening or at lunchtime. These are times when your VPS may overflow. You may also be concerned that this is going to change how Google reads your information. Liquid Web has taken this into consideration and knows that your server needs to stay the same. The details are worked out before you are ever switched over to the VPS from your previous hosting situation. Basically, your domain name still belongs to you, but you are using an IP address from Liquid Web.

The basis of VPS is the ability to run various operating systems on one apparatus. Most website owners find this information to be past their knowledge, and therefore quickly pay for hosting services without properly researching. This leads to faulty service and wasted financial resources. This is why Liquid Web appeals to me more than other companies. They make sure their clients are clear about the services they are purchasing, other than taking advantage of their lack of knowledge.

How VPS IS Different From a Dedicated Server?

Dedicated Server
A dedicated server can also be used for a blog but is not always necessary.

I don’t want to make this review about dedicated servers, but I think it is important that people understand the difference. Otherwise, it can be difficult to choose the right one. At first, I thought a VPS was all-inclusive of everything I needed. Some websites do outgrow the VPS option at some point, others fit comfortably throughout their existence. This often depends more on the type of site you have than its growth rate.

My doctor’s office, for instance, invited me to register for their online record keeping system. I was skeptical at first, imagining all of my personal information floating around on the world wide web. This is not at all how it works, however. Once I learned more about offsite servers, it made sense. My medical records were going to be on a hard drive somewhere, whether in the office or in a random building somewhere. Truth be told, they were probably more at risk at the doctor’s office.

My doctor, most likely, has purchased a dedicated server for these records. The volume of records from hundreds of patients would just be too high to be handled by a VPS. This is why it is important to know the difference. A dedicated server can also be used for a blog but is not always necessary. If my doctor’s office decides to start a blog where they post interests about health and their office news, a VPS would be a better choice. It takes a long time to accumulate enough blog posts to overflow a server. If the site becomes extremely active with many followers who comment daily, The VPS can still be useful for a good amount of time because the bulk of this action probably takes place during certain times of the day, only. There is not a consistent flow of heavy traffic.

The processors may be different for each type of plan, as well. Some are better with large volumes of data. I can’t speak for all companies, but I do know that Liquid Web offers an Intel processor for dedicated servers. Having VPS does not mean that your information is not in a physical location, it means that is kind of operating in the background of another unit. Cores can be physically or virtually separated. For the purpose of VPS hosting, the virtual concept is used.

What Others Have to Say?

Liquid web
A long-term supporter of Liquid Web shows that they have the ability to change with new technology and continue to serve their customers

At this point, you may be asking yourself why you should listen to what I have to say. There are a ton of sites out there, and I’m just one person. I can’t possibly have tried everything, and yet I’m strongly attached to the services at Liquid Web. I just want you to know how much easier this hosting site has made my business life. But you don’t have to take my word for it. Take a look at what some other users have to say.

Carlos Romero reports, “Excellent service.” He states “These guys are excellent and cool at the same time.”

Erik Salmon raves, “The best web host.” He elaborates with, “I have been with several web hosting companies, and Liquid Web has been the best company that I have been with. I pay a bit more, however, it’s well worth it!”

Thomas McDonald appears to have been a long-time customer and says, “Over a decade of support.” He explains, “I have been hosting with Liquid Web for many years. I have had excellent support for any hour of the day. A great group of people.”

These reviews compliment the company with many statements that mirror what I have already told you. The customer support is amazing and always available. The higher pricing is mentioned in one comment, but this is something I have talked about repeatedly. I completely agree that the extra cost is worth it.  A long-term supporter of Liquid Web shows that they have the ability to change with new technology and continue to serve their customers with a consistent service policy. Liquid Web has the reputation to back up my claims.

Wrapping Up

What more can I say about Liquid Web? I have used several pages to share my point of view. Their services speak for themselves. This review focused on the VPS hosting plans. These are available for use by a variety of website types. VPS service fills the gap between a shared server and a dedicated server. Growing blogs and small businesses often find themselves in this middle ground. There is no reason to spend extra money just to say you have a dedicated server. A VPS works amazingly well in many situations. Some sites stay with these programs for years.

I hope I have made clear the reasons for using a VPS, as well as how they work. People rarely feel good about purchasing something they don’t understand. Many website owners fly blind for a long time while a web hosting company tells them what to buy. This often results in misused funds and the inability to meet the sites true needs. There is not much that can be done if the client and hosting company do not work together. For this to happen, the company has to have the client’s best interest in mind. I have no doubt that this is the case with Liquid Web. I have never felt that my concerns were ignored or belittled.

Money is also a big discussion point with Liquid Web. Even the reviews stated the extra cost. The charges at liquid web, however, can be designated towards items you actually need. Many sites sell you stuff that doesn’t apply to your site requirements. This is no way to do business. The money you spend at Liquid Web all goes towards items that you need and that you personally choose. Specialists are there to guide you through the technical language so that you understand where your money is going, and how each item benefits your website.

If VPS hosting is the best option for your site, the Liquid Web representatives don’t try to sell you something else. They focus on finding the right plan and add-ons to complete your program. Trustworthy companies are hard to find these days. Liquid Web, in my opinion, is one of them.

I have also discussed some signs that your website may be in need of a VPS. To recap, you may do best with a VPS if you are having problems with the shared server you are using. If your website crashes at certain times of the day, or you find that storage space is getting low, a VPS might be a good option. Growing blogs are also great candidates for these types of servers.  If your VPS is overflowing on a regular basis you may need to move up to a dedicated server soon. A Liquid Web representative can help you make the right choice.

While I wanted to give you pertinent information about VPS hosting, I also want to continue to mention the role that Liquid Web has played for me with this option. I have had several websites in various stages of development all at the same time. Liquid Web was incredibly helpful in determining the best program for each stage. I found their website to be full of well-organized information. The ease of navigation made it less of a hassle to find exactly what I was looking for. Liquid Web takes over the difficult part of running a website and leaves the fun to you.

I hope you can now make an informed decision on what type of hosting plan you need. I also hope that my in-depth perspective of Liquid Web renews your confidence that a reputable web hosting company does exist.
